What strapping material do I need?

When choosing between different strapping materials, the user's application is important. Strapping materials will offer different benefits at different price points depending on the kind you get.

Polypropylene Strapping - This lightweight option is ideal for light-duty palletizing and bundling. Polypropylene strapping is economic, recyclable, and safer than metal strapping.

Polyester Strapping - This type of strapping is a medium-duty option ideal for rigid loads. Polyester strapping is the ideal choice when higher tension is needed and it performs better for this type of application than polypropylene.

Steel Strapping - Steel strapping is a heavy-duty option that offers the highest breaking strength compared to other lighter options. It is less prone to deformation or stretching, and is excellent at holding parts or materials that may potentially cut into softer strapping options.

Material Advantages Disadvantages Applications
Steel High break strength
High heat resistance
High tension retention
No elongation recovery
Prone to rust
High cost
Difficult to recycle

Heavy loads
Excellent for stabilizing heavy loads that may shift.

What is the difference between strapping seals?

Similar to strapping material, the ideal strapping seal type for your needs will depend on the application.

Open Seal - Ideal for use on flat and smooth surfaces.

Closed/Semi-Closed Seal - Ideal for use on curved or irregular surfaces.

Serrated Seal - Generally used for polyster strapping to help grip the polyester.

What strapping tools do I need?

There are a variety of strapping tools that will make sealing and bundling easier. Ensure you have the proper strapping tools to make strapping tasks more efficient.

Tensioners - Tensions the strapping to ensure a tight fit around packages or materials.

Sealers - Used to seal the various types of strapping seals around the strapping itself.

Cutters - Tool to cut various materials and thicknesses of strapping.

Multi-Purpose Strapping Tools - Combines all of the necessary strapping tools into one; handles the tensioning, sealing, and cutting of strapping.

Strapping Dispensers - Designed to be compatible with polyester, polypropylene, and steel strapping. Includes storage trays and can accommodate multiple strapping sizes.
