What you need in preparation for a wildfire:

Prepare an emergency kit
Develop an evacuation plan and learn about proper fire safety procedures
Remove any fire hazards from your workspace such as dried out branches, leaves, and debris
Make sure all gutters and downspouts are clear of debris
Consult with your local fire department to make sure your workspace is fire-resistant
Ensure appropriate smoke detectors and fire safety signage are in place and functioning

Have a radio or similar device available to stay informed on the latest news reports
Be prepared at all times to evacuate if told to do so
Keep an emergency kit on hand in a portable bag or container
Keep doors and windows closed at all times
Remove any flammable window coverings
Keep a sprinkler on hand if there is access to water nearby
Keep lights on to help visibility if smoke fills up the area

Use extreme caution when returning to your home or place of work
Do not use appliances until the fuse-breaker or switch box has been verified by a qualified electrician
Look for damage to floors and walls, as well as broken glass and other potentially dangerous debris
Use the appropriate safety equipment if contact with debris is necessary, such as gloves, masks and other protective gear
Prioritize ventilation or humidification of the affected area
Use appropriate cleaners to clean smoke from floors, walls, and all other surfaces that were contaminated by smoke
Restock all first aid and fire safety products
