Your Guide To First Aid Kit Selection With Dynamic Safety

Dynamic Safety

Selecting the proper first aid kit is a vital component to ensuring that proper safety measures are being followed within your workplace. The following guide will help you navigate the regulatory guidelines involved when choosing a first aid kit and will help you properly identify the ideal kit for your needs.

First Aid Kit Types

Personal First Aid Kit

1. PERSONAL | First Aid Kit

Type 1 (personal) first aid kits are best suited for, as the name suggests, personal use for workers who either work in isolation or who do not have direct access to a workplace first aid kit. This type of first aid kit is also generally preferred for working environments where risk of harm to the worker is low.

Basic First Aid Kit

2. BASIC | First Aid Kit

Type 2 (basic) first aid kits are suitable for most workplaces with a low risk working environment. The basic first aid kit is available in three different sizes - small, medium and large - and will contain the minimum required contents of each respective size. The size of kit needed will depend on the quantity of workers present in a workspace at one time.

Intermediate First Aid Kit

3. INTERMEDIATE | First Aid Kit

Type 3 (intermediate) first aid kits are the optimal choice for work environments with higher risk levels. Each Type 3 first aid kit will contain all of the same items found in a Type 2 kit, as per CSA regulations, along with additional items to meet the needs of a workplace with elevated risk. Similarly to the Type 2 kit, Type 3 first aid kits also feature small, medium and large sizes.
